Frequently asked questions
Yes. All guests are required to sign a liability waiver prior to riding. For the safety of our horses, guides, and guests, no rider will be permitted to mount a horse without a completed and approved waiver on file.
Helmets are not required; however, you are welcome to bring and wear your own if preferred.
For your convenience, the waiver form is available on our website and may be submitted online prior to arrival. You may also text a completed copy to 509-989-3637 or email sagecliffehorseback@yahoo.com.
We recommend completing your waiver in advance to ensure a smooth and timely check-in process.
We kindly ask all riders to arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled ride time to ensure a seamless and relaxed experience.
This allows time to:
-Ensure completed liability waiver
-Confirm booking details
-Be thoughtfully paired with your horse
-Get comfortable and acquainted before mounting
-Allow your guide to begin mounting riders so your full ride time is honored
To maintain the integrity of each guest's experience, late arrivals will result in shortened ride time.
SageCliffe Horseback is located on a beautiful resort property with an onsite restaurant; we encourage you to arrive early and enjoy a drink or meal before your ride. Our goal is for your experience to feel intentional, unhurried, and unforgettable from the moment you arrive.
Yes. For the safety and well-being of our horses and riders, we have a weight limit of 270 lbs.
Mounting and dismounting require balance and stability, and saddles naturally shift when weight is lifted off the seat. Riders over this limit may not be able to safely get on and off the horse.
This policy is strictly in place to protect both our guests and our horses. We appreciate your understanding and respect for the animals that make this experience possible.
You're welcome to dress comfortably and in a way that makes you feel confident for your experience. We recommend comfortable trousers, closed toe shoes (boots or sturdy sneakers work well).
For safety and comfort, please do not bring large bags or purses. We ask that these remain in your vehicle. Each saddle is equipped with a small bag, where you may securely store your phone, keys or a small wallet during the ride.
Our goal is for you to feel comfortable, secure, and fully present in the experience.
No prior riding experience is necessary. We proudly welcome first-time riders and beginners.
Our guides will walk you through each step of the process, from approaching your horse to mounting and riding comfortably. Each guest is thoughtfully paired with a horse suited to their experience level and comfort.
One of our core missions at SageCliffe Horseback is to share this lifestyle with those who may not otherwise have access to it. Whether it's your first time in the saddle or your hundredth, you will feel supported, safe, and confident throughout your experience.
To maintain the highest level of safety and quality, we host a maximum of four riders per ride.
We intentionally keep our group size small to ensure personalized attention and ride only with horses that are carefully selected and trusted for beginner-friendly experiences.
For larger groups, we are happy to schedule back-to-back ride times, allowing everyone in your party to enjoy a full experience.
While one group rides, others can enjoy the beautiful resort property, Including the on-site restaurant + patio, winery, lawn games (cornhole), salon & spa, or simply relaxing and taking in the views.
For retreats, corporate gatherings, family celebrations or private events, we can reserve multiple time slots or book out the day to create a seamless experience.
Our focus is quality, safety, and an elevated experience!
