Rider Requirements & Safety Policy 

Riders must be 7 years of age or older. Ages 7-10 must be guided / led by staff. A parent or legal guardian must be present on the ride. Helmets are required for ages 7-10. Children under 7 are not permitted on trail ride. Please inquire about our youth riding progam in Warden, Washington. 

For the safety and well-being of our horses, riders must weigh no more than 270lbs. 

Mounting and dismounting require balance and stability, and saddles naturally shift when weight is lifted off the seat. Riders over this limit may not be able to safely get on and off the horse.

This policy is strictly in place to protect both our guests and our horses. We appreciate your understanding and respect for the animals that make this experience possible. We reserve the right to refuse service if a rider exceeds the weight limit. 

For the safety of our guests and horses, all riders must be physically and mentally capable of safely handling a horse. Guests may not participate if they are visibly impaired or unable to safely follow instructions.  

-Riders must be able to maintain balance and coordination independently.

-Slurred speech, instability, delayed reactions, or disruptive behavior will result in refusal of service.

-Any guest deemed unsafe to ride will be denied participation without refund.

This policy applies to alcohol, recreational substances, and the misuse of prescription medication.

Horses are powerful, responsive animals that require full awareness and respect. SageCliffe Horseback staff reserves the right to determine rider eligibility at their sole discretion. 

All riders are required to sign a liability waiver prior to riding, follow all safety instructions given by staff. Minors must have a parent or legal guardian sign on their behalf. Failure to comply ith safety instructions may result in removal from the ride without refund.
